Quickpatch

Wie immer wenn man gerade gar keine Zeit hat kommt natürlich die Notwendigkeit eines Gemeinschaftsquiltes. Wie immer schnell. (Und ich will ja mitmachen.)

Gewünscht waren warme Töne und Rot, zumindest Rot habe ich in rauhen Mengen, allerdings davon genau null Patchworkstoffe. Also mußten Bekleidungsstoffe aller Art herhalten. Nur Fleece habe ich weggelassen. Ich hoffe, die Quilterin kann damit dann auch noch was anfangen…

Das ganze in bewährter “Crazy-Log-Technik” absichtlich krumm und schief genäht. Ich sag ja, ich hab’s nicht so mit dem Patchwork…

It’s always when I have no time at all, when a quilt is needed. (Luckily only one block from me…) Quickly of course. (And I want to take part.)

The request was warm colours and red, well red I have but zero fabrics for patchwork. So a collection from my clothes fabrics has to do. I did not use fleece scraps, but apart from that all material is used. I hope the quilter gets along with it…

The technique is my “Crazy-Log-Patch”, everything in different widths and a bit shabby and not straight. (Intendetly, but frankly I am not the one for patchwork…)

Und dann ging mal wieder alles schief, was schief gehen kann und mein Patch ist nicht mal rechtzeitig angekommen. Glücklicherweise waren es genug andere, so daß die Empfängerin trotzdem einen Quilt mit vielen lieben Wünschen in Empfang nehmen kann. Und das ist ja letztlich die Hauptsache.

And then everything went as wrong as possible so my patch couldn’t get to the sewing in time. Luckily there were enough others so there is a quilt full of good wishes that will be given. And that’s what counts in the end.

Manchmal denke ich ja, Silvias derzeit wieder bis unter die Decke vollgestopfter Laden bringt eh bei allen das Schlimmste zum Vorschein… so in kreativer Hinsicht. Oder es sind einfach die wüstesten Kreativlinge, die sich dort treffen…. :o)

Bislang dachte ich, meine Stickerei sei die blödeste und aufwendigste Idee, die so im letzten halben Jahr aus dem Ruder gelaufen ist… aber ich gebe den Stab ab…

… an Zauberpuffel. Seht ihr, was da vor ihr auf dem Tisch liegt? Oh ja, ein Blumengarten. aber en miniature!

Eine Fingerübung, sagte sie… und auf einmal waren es viele, dieser winzigen Blümchen, alle von Hand gemacht. Und sooo klein. Einfach verrückt!

Ich bin auch mal gespannt, was das wird!

( Die anderen Bilder vom Nähbrunch habe ich in die Galerie bei der Hobbyschneiderin hochgeladen. Es sind eh nicht viele. Ich war beschäftigt und außerdem hat meine Kamera ein paar Bilder mal wieder nicht gespeichert. )

Yesterday our “Kölner Nähbrunch” met again, in Silvias shop in Aachen. Either it’s the atmosphere of the shop, full of fabrics and notions that brings out the “worst” ideas creativitywise or it’s just that’s the most crazy-creative people who attend the meetings there…

So far I’d thought my embroidery was the most stupid, crazy and time consumingb thing in the land of creativity in the last six month… but I’m not alone…

You see the tiny things on the table in front of Zauberpuffel? Yes, they are hexagons… she did them, piece by piece, with her own bare hands. Aren’t they awsome? So incredibly cute!

They started just as a test of the technique… and ran out of controle. I’m so happy, that this not only happens to me…

And I’m more than curious, what will become of them in the end…

And now I have to go on working on my Challenge things. Good news is: I’ve “testsewn” my Top and it fits. Unexpectedly it even fits without a zipper.

Now I only have to undo all the basted seems and sew it up…

Ein bißchen habe ich übrigens auch an meinem Challenge-Top weitergearbeitet. Die gute Nachricht ist: es paßt. Überraschenderweise sogar ohne einen Reißverschluß einzufügen.

Jetzt muß ich die gehefteten Nähte nur alle wieder auftrennen und es fertig nähen…
